In the Tennessee House a bill sought to impose a 20 percent sales tax on items sold at
"sexually oriented businesses," and to require strippers to pay a
privilege tax to work in Tennessee.
From the outside looking in at the zoo that is the TN House, it appears that Representative Carr's associates didn't think raising the cost of hitting a strip club was all that good an idea.
Rep. I. M. Indaclub said, "Unless they raise our per diem to cover the additional cost of serving our constituents while in Nashville, this thing is dead on arrival."
