Doctors? Guess Who Really Likes the Supreme Court Ruling?

Listening to the megaphonic idiocy from the right, you would think the Afffordable Care Act is nothing but a tax increase on everything, instead of a fine to cover the expenses on the very few people who won't buy health insurance even after we give them the money to buy it. But guess what? Almost all doctors love that they'll be able to focus on the wellness of their patients instead of only seeing them when they are already sick.
 From Medical News:

Ardis Hoven, MD, president-elect of the AMA, which was an early supporter Obama's healthcare plan, told MedPage Today that the ACA expansion of insurance coverage will mean that previously uninsured patients will be more likely to seek preventive care in the doctor's office sooner, rather than waiting for an emergency to send them to the hospital.
"It allows physicians to see patients earlier, rather than delaying seeing them when they get sick," Hoven said. "What it does is allow them to do the kind of care that they want to do in prevention and wellness."
The other big doctor associations, such as the American College of Physicians, likewise support the Obama plan.  So which physicians don't like the plan? Urologists. For some reason they are getting all pissy about it.

Ha!

A Little Gift

I consider R. Crumb's "The Complete Book of Genesis" one of the more serious artworks of my time. Most of us were introduced to him on the cover of Janis Joplin's first album with Big Brother and the Holding Company. Crumb is one seriously cracked human being and one of the few artists capable of showing us our  bared societal soul in the mirror of his cartoon truth. He's been called every name in the book because of it.

Quote of the Day

Money won the Wisconsin Election, except that Democrats took over the State Senate and the era of Walker is over, even though he kept his Governorship.  Will we keep showing fealty to money?
