From Medical News:
Ardis Hoven, MD, president-elect of the AMA, which was an early supporter Obama's healthcare plan, told MedPage Today that the ACA expansion of insurance coverage will mean that previously uninsured patients will be more likely to seek preventive care in the doctor's office sooner, rather than waiting for an emergency to send them to the hospital. The other big doctor associations, such as the American College of Physicians, likewise support the Obama plan. So which physicians don't like the plan? Urologists. For some reason they are getting all pissy about it.
"It allows physicians to see patients earlier, rather than delaying seeing them when they get sick," Hoven said. "What it does is allow them to do the kind of care that they want to do in prevention and wellness."
Ha!
