Buzz for 2-23-16 (It's crazy out there)

Our state GOP continues to take local decisions away from locals and turn them over to people who live other places, specifically our TN legislators who obviously have taken to that notion of "Central Planning" over local control. In this case it is the will of Nashville taxpayers that they be able to spend a portion of their tax dollars to create jobs for Nashvillians. This is obviously not fair to non-Nashvillians who want that Nashville money for themselves. It is interesting to see our GOP controlled legislature skip right over socialism, which they would denounce to a person) and go off the deep end to communism. Yep, central planning is the great fallacy of Communism and yet here we are seeing our legislators embrace the concept. To be fair, this only happens when local governments try to keep tax money in their local communities to boost local economies and provide local jobs.

President Obama...Appoint a Warrior Not an Appeaser

I'm calling on President Obama to appoint a strongly Progressive person to the United States Supreme Court...Someone who will read the Constitution as protecting "We, the People" rather than twisting it to serve corporate masters and the politically powerful... To place before the Senate a person who will frighten conservatives with an unyielding dedication to "Truth, Justice, and the American way"...Someone who understands that free speech is not money spread so unequally in an increasingly oligarchical society.

Surely there is a person of judicial stature who believes in facts and that truth and honesty and ethics are qualities to be revered and that Supreme Court decisions are not trinkets to be traded for luxury hunting trips or lobbying fees to a spouse or speaking fees for appearances before secretive right wing organizations.

For the sake of our Nation appoint that person! Please do not forsake our children's future by appointing someone who appears moderate to extremists.

President Obama, give us a lion not a lamb!

TN Legislature Continues to Disgrace TN

So the state senate refused to honor a tireless activist who has given an incredible amount of unchallenged goodness to her city. Why? Because the national organization she is affiliated with encouraged undocumented workers to not show up at work one day.  What? He wants undocumented aliens to show up for work?

Another idiotic gun bill has been introduced that would allow patrons of restaurants to sue the owners for not allowing weapons if they get bitten by a racoon.

Young Voters Overwhelmingly Reject Hillary's Message

It is a statement as to my chronological age that I consider 39 to be the dividing line between young and old (for the purposes of this analysis only). I take one thing away from last night's Iowa caucus: Young Americans don't like the world that the old establishment is going to leave them with and are determined to change that.
According to the entrance polls, which wrongly predicted a Clinton victory, Sanders got eighty-six per cent of the Democratic vote in the seventeen-to-twenty-four age group, eighty-one per cent in the twenty-five-to-twenty-nine group, and sixty-five per cent in the thirty-to-thirty-nine age group.
The youth of America are going with the message carried by the oldest candidate in this race, Bernie Sanders. More
