From Our "Now I Get It" Department

The earliest sacrificial offering to God appears to have been made by Cain and was all veggies. The Old Testament has a long list of the particular items that were to be offered up to God depending on the sin committed. Everything that God did not consume was to be given to the priests, who apparently had quite a taste for Flambe.
